CompliKATEd

Well, just your ordinary, every day complicated me. And my random musings about science, music, or anything else that sparks my interest on any given day.

Just found this on facebook and it is annoying
1. ‘I could care less’ is not wrong, it’s just American. Despite what many people think, these terms are not synonymous.
2. There was a convention to use an apostrophe to pluralise loan words coming from a different system that couldn’t be easily made plural in English; for example, soprano’s, pizza’s, sofa’s, etc. You still see this around.
8. (MY FAVOURITE) Actually there is a noun ‘affect’ (to do with emotions and emotional content of art etc) and a verb ‘effect’ (to cause; see ‘effected a change in sth’).
10. People use it so it is a word.
The whole point of a native language is that you don’t have to learn it because you already know it. Not being able to write it down is a secondary issue.

Ignorance and stupidity is amazing these days….Humanity consistently disappoints me.
…Get your facts correct, please. Perhaps proof your post on criticism and make sure you don’t sound like an idiot first. I will not dissect your argument as you dissected the previous because anyone I know who reads your dissection will immediately realize you are a fool.
